Incoming email limit for a non-existing mailbox:
A non-existent mailbox is one which has not been created on a particular domain name, but a sender can still attempt to send emails to the address.
There is a soft-limit on the maximum number of emails sent to a non-existent mailbox that a domain can accept. This is 500 emails/hour and 1000 emails/day.
Once the limit is reached, the domain won't be able to accept any email on a non-existent email address. However, incoming emails to the actual email won't get impacted until the corresponding limits for a domain or email account are reached.
