Neo MCP – Connect Neo Mail with Claude and ChatGPT

Neo  MCP (Model Context Protocol) allows you to securely connect your Neo email account with AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. Once connected, you can use natural language prompts to interact with your emails, calendars, and contacts directly from the AI assistant.

With Neo MCP, you can:

  • Search and read emails
  • Send emails
  • Browse email folders and labels
  • Manage labels
  • View calendars and events
  • Check attendee availability
  • Create calendar events
  • Search contacts

Select your preferred AI assistant below and follow the setup instructions to connect Neo MCP.

Claude

Setup Neo MCP with Claude
 

Step 1: Open Connectors in Claude

  • Open claude.ai and sign in to your account.
  • From the navigation menu on the left, click Customize.


     
  • Select Connectors from the available options.

Step 2: Add a New Connector

  • On the Connectors page, click the + (Plus) icon in the upper-right corner.
  • Select Add custom connector from the menu.

  • You should now see the Add custom connector window.

Step 3: Enter the Neo MCP Details

  • In the Add custom connector window, enter the following information:
  • Setting Value
    Name Neo MCP
    Remote MCP Server URL https://api.neo.space/mcp
    OAuth Client ID claude
    OAuth Client Secret Leave blank

  • Once all details have been entered, click Add.

Step 4: Connect Your Neo Account

  • Locate Neo MCP in the Connectors list.
  • Click Connect next to Neo MCP.

     
  • You will be redirected to the Neo sign-in page.

Step 5: Sign In to Your Neo Account

  • Enter your Neo email address.
  • Enter your Neo password.
  • Click on Login.

     
  • After signing in successfully, you will be asked to authorize access.

Step 6: Approve Access

  • Review the permissions requested by Claude.
  • Click Allow Access to continue.

     
  • This allows Claude to securely access your Neo account through MCP.

Step 7: Confirm the Connection

  • The setup is complete when:

    ✅ You see the message "Connected to Neo MCP" in Claude.
    ✅ No authorization or connection errors are displayed.
    ✅ Neo MCP appears as a connected connector in Claude.

     

  • You can now use Claude to access your Neo emails, calendars, and contacts through Neo MCP.

If you are using a shared/common Claude account, avoid connecting your Neo mailbox through MCP.

Your Neo login session may remain available across shared Claude instances, which can allow other shared users to access your mailbox.

For best security:

  • Use only your personal Claude or ChatGPT account
  • Do not connect Neo Mail on shared/public AI accounts
  • Always log out from unused sessions

Tool Permission Settings

After connecting Neo MCP, Claude allows you to control how MCP tools are used.

  • Always allow – Claude can use Neo MCP tools automatically without asking for approval.
  • Needs approval – Claude will ask for your permission before using a Neo MCP tool.
  • Blocked – Prevents Claude from using the selected Neo MCP tool.
  • Custom – Configure permissions individually for specific tools.

For the best experience, we recommend keeping the default setting of Always allow unless you prefer additional approval prompts for security reasons.

 

 

Using Neo MCP with Claude

Once Neo MCP is connected, you can use natural language prompts in Claude to interact with your Neo mailbox, calendar, and contacts.

How to enter a prompt in Claude

  1. Open claude.ai and sign in to your account.
  2. Start a New Chat from the left sidebar.
  3. Make sure Neo MCP is connected — you should see it listed under your active connectors. 

    If it's not connected yet, follow the Setup Neo MCP with Claude steps above, then come back here to continue.
  4. Click inside the message box at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Type your prompt in plain English — just describe what you want to do, as if you're asking a person.
  6. Press Enter or click the Send button.
  7. Claude will process your request and use Neo MCP to fetch or perform the action from your Neo account.
     

Example prompts you can try

Email Examples
  • Show me my unread emails.
  • Find emails received today.
  • Search for emails from John.
  • Show me emails with attachments.
  • Send an email to john@example.com saying I will join the meeting tomorrow.
Calendar Examples
  • Create a calendar event for tomorrow at 2 PM.
  • Check my availability this Friday.
Contact Examples
  • Find John's contact information.
  • Show contacts matching "marketing".
  • Look up contact details for Sarah.

Remove Neo MCP from Claude

You can either disconnect Neo MCP temporarily or remove it completely from Claude.

Open the Neo MCP Connector

  1. Open Claude and sign in to your account.
  2. Click Customize from the menu on the left.
  3. Select Connectors.
  4. Click Neo MCP from the list of connected connectors.

     

Option 1: Disconnect Neo MCP

If you only want to stop Claude from accessing your Neo account for now, use Disconnect.

  • Click Disconnect in the top-right corner.
  • Confirm the action if prompted.
alert-success Disconnecting Neo MCP only removes Claude's access to your Neo account. The Neo MCP connector will remain available in Claude, and you can reconnect at any time without re-entering the connector details.

Option 2: Remove Neo MCP Completely

If you no longer want Neo MCP to appear in Claude, you can remove the connector completely.

  • Click the ⋮ (three-dot menu) in the top-right corner. 
  • Select Remove.
  • Confirm the action. 

     
alert-success Removing Neo MCP permanently deletes the connector from Claude. If you want to use Neo MCP again in the future, you'll need to add the connector again and complete the setup and authorization process from the beginning.
ChatGPT

Setup Neo MCP with ChatGPT

 

Step 1: Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT

  • Open ChatGPT and sign in to your account.
  • Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  • Select Settings.

  • From the Settings menu, click on Apps.
  • Click on Advanced Settings.
  • Turn on Developer Mode.

Step 2: Configure the Neo MCP App

  • Once Developer Mode has been enabled, click on Create App to start configuring Neo MCP.


     
  • After clicking Create App, the Create App window will open.
  • In the Name field, enter: Neo MCP
  • Under connection, in the MCP Server URL field, enter: https://api.neo.space/mcp


  •  
  • Locate the Advanced OAuth settings section. 
  • Click on the Advanced OAuth settings panel to expand it.
  • Under OAuth advanced settings, locate the OAuth Client ID field.
  • In the OAuth advanced settings field, enter: chatgpt 

     
  • Select the "I understand and want to continue" checkbox to acknowledge the security warning and confirm that you trust the Neo MCP server. 
  • Once the checkbox is enabled, click Create to add the Neo MCP connector to ChatGPT.
     

Step 3: Authorize Neo Account

  • After clicking Create, ChatGPT will open the Add Neo MCP to ChatGPT authorization screen.

  • Click Sign in with Neo MCP to begin the authentication process.

     

  • A new browser tab will open and redirect you to the Neo Login page.

  • Enter your Neo email address and password, then click Login to continue.
     

  • After logging in, review the requested permissions and click Approve to authorize the connection and continue.
     

  • Once the authorization is successful, you will be redirected back to ChatGPT. The Neo MCP app will now appear in your Apps list and be ready to use.
     

Using Neo MCP with ChatGPT

Once Neo MCP is connected, you can use natural language prompts in ChatGPT to interact with your Neo mailbox, calendar, and contacts.

How to enter a prompt in ChatGPT

  1. Open chatgpt.com and sign in to your account.
  2. Start a New Chat from the left sidebar.
  3. To confirm Neo MCP is connected, click your profile picture at the bottom-left corner, then click Settings. In the Settings window, select Apps from the left menu — you should see Neo  MCP listed under Enabled apps.

    If it doesn't appear, follow the Setup Neo MCP with ChatGPT steps above to add and connect it, then come back here to continue.
  4. Click inside the message box at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Type your prompt in plain English — describe what you want to do with your email, calendar, or contacts.
  6. Press Enter or click the Send button.
  7. ChatGPT will use Neo MCP to access your Neo account and complete the request

Remove Neo MCP from ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Open Apps
  4. Locate the Neo MCP app
  5. Click Disconnect or Delete
