Setup A record and CNAME record for Hostgator

Setting up A records and CNAME records for your HostGator account is a straightforward process. This guide will walk you through each step to ensure your custom domain is properly configured for NEO custom domain emails. By following these detailed instructions, you'll have your DNS records set up and your emails running smoothly in no time.

1. Log in to Your Hostgator Account

• Start by logging into your HostGator account. You can do this by clicking here. Once logged in, navigate to the Domain section.

2. Select the Domain to Configure

• Choose the domain you wish to configure from the list. Click on "Configure Domain" or "Configurar Dominio" to proceed.

3. Edit the Advanced DNS Zone

• To access more detailed DNS settings, click on "Edit Advanced DNS Zone" or "Editar Zona Avançada de DNS".

• A pop-up box will appear. Confirm by selecting "Ok, Continue to DNS zone" or "Ok, continuar para a Zona de DNS" to move forward.

• Scroll down to the section labeled "Fazer configuração avançada na Zona de DNS" and click on "ADICIONAR REGISTRO" (Add Record) or select the option to "Perform advanced configuration in DNS Zone" and click on "ADD Record".

4. Add the A Record

• From the dropdown menu, select A Record as the record type.

• Enter the following values for the first A record:

• After entering the details, click on "ADICIONAR" or "To Add" to save the record.

• Repeat steps 5 to 7 for each of the remaining A records. Below is a table with the remaining three A records that must be added.

5. Add the CNAME Record

• To add a CNAME record, follow the same process by selecting CNAME Record from the dropdown menu.

• Enter the required values for the first CNAME record.

• Finally, click on "ADICIONAR" or "To Add" to save the CNAME record.
